Robert Thomas Hastings Sr.

Robert Thomas Hastings Sr. was born in Buffalo, New York, February 16, 1926. Robert and Virginia Moschel married in September 1948. He graduated from University of Buffalo in 1950. Bob enlisted in the Navy in 1943 during World War II and retired as a Full Commander after 25 years of service.

As the C.O. of his unit in Niagara Falls, New York, they were awarded the Noel David Trophy for Readiness for three years consecutively. At FMC in California he was manager of the Assault Amphibian Program. In 1986 Bob and Virginia retired and moved to HSV.

He served on many committees here.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 66 ½ years, Virginia; daughter, Kristine Queen; son, Robert Hastings Jr.; three grandchildren, Jennifer Boose, Jacob Hastings, and Brian Hastings; two great-grandchildren, Brianna and Kyle Boose; and five siblings.

Memorial services will be at The Kirk in the Pines Church on Saturday May 9 at 11:00 AM.
